Site Status

Over the course of the next few months, I shall be transfering the operation of the site over to someone else, yet to be named...

I have taken a full time job in York, so attending The Trunce is proving difficult. The race is still going ahead however, as Andy and I are managing to coordinate ourselves over the internet. I am currently rewriting the results software to enable someone else to use it, as it's a bit of a quirky beast at the moment...

More news as it arises...

Greetings!

Welcome to the website for The Trunce, one of the largest regular amateur running events in South Yorkshire!

The Trunce is an open fell running event in which runners complete a 4.25 mile course, that both begins and ends at The Wagon and Horses public house, Oxspring, South Yorkshire. The Trunce promotes participation, so runners of all standards and abilities are heartily welcomed!

Fees

Fees are only payable for the particular races that a participant competes in. At the moment, our race fees are one pound per race for adults, and fifty pence for junior participants.

In addition to race fees, we also intend to levy a charge of 20p per entrant on the senior race. The money raised by this charge will be contributed in its entirety to the parish council's fund for much needed work on the football pitch. Given the council's kind cooperation with The Trunce in the past, we were sure that the runners would not object to a small charge to contribute to such a worthy cause.

Race Dates

The upcoming events page has now been updated to show the dates of every Trunce race for the 2008 season. Should any runners or clubs wish to publicise their own events, please let Martin Milan know, and he will take care of the technical side of things... It would be helpful though if you could visit the Upcoming Events page first, so as to be sure that you give Martin all the information he will need.
